Developer hopes to add fields/indoor facility to Glendale Sports and Entertainment district

Glendale Sports and Entertainment Center Set to Grow

The City of Glendale has been at the center of the sports universe the past few weeks, serving as host to Super Bowl 57. The city made it a priority to show the town off and promote itself with the hopes of attracting more opportunities around the State Farm Stadium. On cue, an announcement of another sports related enterprise. Although it’s still in the planning stages, Glendale-based Mangat Group has made progress on a proposed sports complex just west of the sports and entertainment district.

The new indoor and outdoor complex, called Mangat Sports Complex or MG SportsPlex, will be located just off Loop 101. It will feature an outdoor stadium-style championship field and two practice fields along with a fitness center, and an indoor facility (see picture) that will include basketball, pickleball and volleyball courts. The group also hopes to add a 110-room hotel to the project. They expect it will cost about $130 million.
