Garland data center working on $50M expansion

Garland Continues to Grow Data Center Footprint

A Garland data center facility is looking at major upgrades. The Dallas Business Journal reports the projects appear to be connected with NTT Data. The forthcoming expansion features two tenant improvement projects, both costing $25 million.

Both projects will entail work on existing buildings for a new tenant, including the addition of office space and adding equipment to data vaults. The total square footage of the buildings comes in at 279,000 square feet.

Garland has been a hotspot for data centers. There are ten data center within a three mile radius of the Dallas suburb. NTT’s Joe Goldsmith explains, “Dallas is the No. 4 city globally for internet traffic, also there’s a large pool of very skilled labor, inexpensive and reliable power, and lots of fiber. Those are the magic ingredients for a great data center market.”
