Designing a Deal: Fulton Market Building for Sale for $9M

Longtime owner and custom furniture designer Morlen Sinoway is seeking $9 million for his 15,000-square-foot commercial property in Fulton Market.

Sinoway hired brokerage firm Greenstone Partners to market the building located at 1052 West Fulton Street, where his store, Morlen Sinoway Atelier, has operated for more than two decades, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.

The old commercial property is in the square of the buzzing Fulton Market District and is listed at almost $9 million for the three-story building, or about $600 per square foot.

Sinoway paid about $770,000 for the site in 2000 when Fulton Market was still an up-and-coming industrial district, and he had previously tried to sell the property prior to the pandemic for more than $11 million. Fulton Market has been a hotbed of activity as of late, with new apartments and redevelopments in the works.
