Chick-fil-A to Open Its First South Side Location
Chicago’s South Side is one step closer to getting its first Chick-fil-A location. Approval today from the City of Chicago Plan Commission cleared the way to begin transforming a vacant off-track betting facility into the first new Southeast Side location for the popular chicken sandwich chain.
The 5,196-square-foot Chick-fil-A restaurant will be developed on a six-acre parcel by nonprofit organization Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI) and the Hope Center Foundation. Construction of the new Chick-fil-A is expected to be completed in the fall of 2024. The restaurant will create 125 new jobs as well as an additional 145 jobs created to construct the building.
“Thanks to the tireless work on behalf of the community by Alderman Anthony Beale, Rev. Meeks, and the talent and support of our community partners, the Hope Center Foundation, City of Chicago, Chick-fil-A, and local businesses and residents, Pullman is an exciting destination that is uplifting the lives of its residents and all of Chicago,” said David Doig, President, CNI.

There’s still time to register for the Connect Industrial Midwest 2024 event on March 5 at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, Illinois. Click here for more information and to register.
