Chick-fil-A To Open South Side Location in Pullman Neighborhood

Chick-fil-A, the popular chicken sandwich chain, is bringing another location to Chicago located in the Pullman Neighborhood. According to Crain’s Chicago Business, the new restaurant will be developed on a parcel of land near 111th Street and I-94.

The new location comes as revitalization efforts in the district aim to revamp one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. David Doig, president of Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, a local economic development advocacy group, has the property under contract in partnership with nonprofit organization Hope Center Foundation. The land housed an off-track betting facility for decades and was owned by racetrack owner Hawthorne, per the outlet.

Located on Chicago’s South Side, Pullman is a unique stretch with a rich railroad and labor history. The neighborhood dates back to the 1880s and was established by Pullman Car Company founder George Pullman, making it one of the first planned company towns in the U.S.
