Bishop Ranch Developer Plans 2,000+ Homes at Chevron Campus

Sunset Development Company, the developer of the East Bay’s massive Bishop Ranch complex, has unveiled plans for the firm’s recent $175 million purchase of Chevron’s former San Ramon, CA campus. The San Francisco Business Times reports that Sunset has presented the city’s Planning Commission with a blueprint to convert the space to single family homes, townhomes, mixed-use multifamily, a park and a mobility hub.

Located next to Bishop Ranch on Bollinger Canyon Road, the project would bring a minimum of 2,030 residences to the location as Sunset seeks to expand its “business park” mentality at Bishop Ranch and now the former Chevron campus to a more multifamily and mixed-use environment. The firm has already begun transforming Bishop Ranch into a mixed-use destination, as apartment complexes are now being developed there.

No project timeline has been revealed as Sunset and the Planning Commission continue to work out the details, and city approvals would be needed before breaking ground.
