Amazon Begins Relocating Employees to Bellevue Office Space
Amazon has started the process of moving its employees to new Bellevue office space despite delays in construction. Amazon is moving 2,000 office employees from Seattle to Bellevue into two office towers.
Vulcan Real Estate’s 555 Tower is one of two office buildings that will be new working space for half of the roughly 2,000 employees Amazon plans to move. While the first 19 floors of the 42-story tower have been completed, the e-commerce giant has paused work on the remaining floors.
Another 1,000 Amazon employees are planning to move into West Main Tower 1. West Main is a three-building, half-block project at 117 106th Avenue NE, also developed by Vulcan.
The move comes as other local employers, such as TikTok, plan growth and expansion in the Seattle area. Amazon is now the largest employer in Bellevue after Microsoft declined to renew its 750,000-square-foot lease.
