Jim Badolato and Steve Comly

Executive Managing Directors Jim Badolato and Steve Comly joined Newmark in 2020, and manage the company’s Capital Markets Finance team, which include Matt Cullison and Michael McKee. The team has closed closed more than $10 billion in financing with over 40 different lenders. 

Production was robust in 2021, generating more than $1.786 billion in loan originations through 56 individual transactions across the lender spectrum. Badolato and Comly spearheaded several $100-million apartment portfolio transactions in which they assisted long-time clients to grow their holdings geographically throughout the country.  

The team also handled multiple GSE credit facilities, customized to provide flexibility and enhanced terms to best solve for their client’s specific business plans. Locally, the team structured a $112-million multi-lender construction financing of a landmark apartment tower in Center City Philadelphia.  

Badolato and Comly also provided positive change on operations including significant time commitments to initiatives on technology, streamlining processes, cross-platform synergies and employee empowerment.
