Aritzia Opens Flagship Boutique on Magnificent Mile

Vancouver-based women’s fashion boutique Aritzia recently opened its two-story flagship location on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, filling a vacant space at 555 N. Michigan Ave., which was formerly home to The Gap.

The Canadian design house agreed to occupy the nearly 50,000-square-foot building in 2022. Aat the time, the deal was the largest completed transaction on the Magnificent Mile since 2015 and the first flagship deal since 2019.

John Vance, principal of Stone Real Estate, told the Chicago Tribune, “In the past six to nine months, brokers have started to say that the avenue is on the upswing.” Aritzia’s opening, alongside other recent additions such as H&M, has contributed to a notable surge in activity within the district.

Aritzia also recently expanded its Chicago area presence, opening its fifth location at the 2.2 million-square-foot Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.
