Primient Makes $400M Investment in Decatur Facility
Primient will invest $400 million in its Decatur facility over the next five years to modernize operations, enhance sustainability, and improve employee well-being.
The announcement was made by Primient’s CEO, Jim Stutelberg and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. “The scale of investments —particularly in the Decatur operations—is unmatched in our industry and clearly signals our ambition to be the partner of choice now and for the future,” said Stutelberg.
This investment will focus on improving infrastructure and operations related to refining and drying practices. “Illinois is open for business, and we’re showing the rest of the nation that business development and environmental sustainability go hand-in-hand,” said Pritzker.
The food and industrial product company, which recently moved into its new headquarters site in Schaumburg, received an EDGE tax credit, which stipulates a $40 million minimum investment creating 50 new full-time jobs and retaining nearly 540 full-time jobs.
