Transwestern Brokers Central Loop’s Largest New Lease at The National

Transwestern Real Estate Services represented building ownership on a new lease at The National, a 20-story, 600,830-square-foot office building located at 125 S. Clark Street in Chicago’s Central Loop submarket.

Building owner, German Commerz Real, was represented by Transwestern EVP Eric Myers, SVP Kathleen Bertrand, and Senior Associate John Nelson in the transaction. TQL was represented by Jon Milonas and James Otto of CBRE.

Total Quality Logistics (TQL), a logistics company specializing in shipping and supply chain, signed a 36,322-square-foot, five-year lease at The National. Previously located at 328 S. Jefferson Street, TQL’s new lease represents a 5,000-square-foot expansion in the Central Business District. This deal marks the largest new lease in the Central Loop in 2023.

“No other building in the Central Loop is attracting and retaining tenants like The National,” said Myers. “Even in a struggling market, this building continues to get deals done partly due to its unmatched amenities and competitive pricing.
