Zydeco Breaks Ground on 550-Acre MetCenter, Second Phase
Zydeco Development Corp. began the second phase of its MetCenter Campus, a 550-acre, mixed-use business park in central Austin. The local developer is building two of four speculative creative office buildings, which will total 410,000 square feet upon completion.
JLL is handling leasing for the project, and recently signed more than 225,000 square feet of deals in buildings 12 through 15 in the development, which is south of downtown Austin on Metropolis Drive. According to JLL’s Brent Powdrill, one of the focuses of the business park is a design “that could accommodate life science tenants expecting Austin’s healthcare community to grow with the opening of the Dell Medical School.”
