ZOM Planning $180M Wellington Green
ZOM Living, which recently acquired 46 acres in Wellington, FL, has plans for the parcel. Specifically, the Orlando-based developer is partnering with Liberty Senior Living to build Wellington Green, a $180 million, multi-phased senior rental complex adjacent to the Mall at Wellington Green. The partners paid $23 million for the land.
Construction on the first phase will launch in Q1 2019, and will consist of 267 units. The completed project will offer 424 units.
The unit mix will offer independent and assisted living, as well as memory care. On-site amenities will include three different dining venues, multipurpose rooms, fitness and spa centers, a community garden and three pools. Also planned is a horse paddock, with ZOM providing equine therapy for residents and pony rides for visiting children.
Wellington Green is ZOM’s first foray into senior housing. The company formed ZOM Senior Living to develop more product geared toward older renters. “We are looking at other projects in Florida and other markets that mirror our existing footprint in the Carolinas, the mid-Atlantic and Texas, and we try to assemble the best teams to fit that market,” Zom’s Greg West told Senior Housing News.
