Zachry’s $200M Hemisfair Plan Approved

The San Antonio City Council has unanimously approved a mixed-use development plan for Hemisfair, the site of the 1960 World’s Fair at 434 S. Alamo St. downtown. The approval means the Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corp. can begin working with Zachry Hospitality on a $200-million project that includes a 200-key hotel, a 385-residential development, up to 70,000 square feet of retail space, and up to 120,000 square feet of office space.

Also on the plan is an 800-space parking garage, which will be placed below the Hemisfair site. A Zachry Hospitality affiliate will operate approximately 200 of the spaces, while the city, which is kicking in up to $18 million for the project, will control the remainder.
