Zachry's san Antonio hotel taking shape

Zachry Putting SA Hotel Plan into Place

The project has been years in the making. Zachry Hospitality has been considering a hotel of many sizes at the old Hemisfair site since 2018.

Zachry recently began constructing a new 200-room hotel on San Antonio’s former World’s Fair site. The 17-story project will be branded The Monarch San Antonio and will be part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Zachry officials now say the hotel is slated to open in early 2026.

Besides the hotel rooms, the project is including more than 520 residential units. The site includes $340 million in private investment.

The hotel will feature a full-service spa, fitness center and a terrace pool. It will also feature multiple food and beverage concepts with indoor and outdoor service, including a rooftop restaurant, bar, and basement speakeasy.

The hotel has been designed with a curve that will offer guests panoramic views of the park to the east and city views overlooking the River Walk, La Villita, the Tower of the Americas and the Alamo area.
