X Corp. Taps JLL to Market “Excess” Space at San Francisco Headquarters

JLL has been hired to list “excess” space at X Corp.’s San Francisco headquarters for sublease, reported the San Francisco Business Times. The listing does not encompass the entirety of the social media platform’s 463,000-square-foot space at 1355 Market St., JLL’s West Coast marketing head, Alex Sierra, told the Business Times on Friday. However, JLL has also been assigned to list the entirety of X Corp.’s former 330,000-square-foot offices at 1 10th St. for sublease.

A source familiar with the listing told the Business Times that X Corp. is tentatively seeking to sublease the fifth through seventh floors of 1355 Market St., approximately 210,000 square feet. The assignment was first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.

X Corp., formerly Twitter, moved its headquarters to 1355 Market in 2012, leading a wave of tech employers that put down roots in the area in the early and mid-2010s. More recently, billionaire Elon Musk took X Corp. private in a $44-billion deal, then slashed its workforce with deep layoffs and voluntary departures.
