WS Development Secures 580K-SF Life Science Lease in Boston Seaport

Massachusetts-based property developer and owner WS Development secured a 580,000-square-foot life science lease with Foundation Medicine for laboratory and office space at 400 Summer St. in the company’s 23-acre Boston Seaport Development. It is the largest life science lease in the City of Boston since 2011. PSP Investments is also developing the project as part of a joint venture with WS Development.

The 16-story laboratory building was designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, in collaboration with the Boston office of Stanec. The 625,000-square-foot property will also include 30,000 square feet of neighborhood retail. Foundation Medicine will occupy all of the laboratory and office space in the building.

WS Development expects the project to start construction later this year, and be ready for occupancy by 2023.
