Work Nearly Underway on $700M Galveston Margaritaville Resort

RREAF Holdings is set to break ground on the $700 million Margaritaville Resort on Galveston Island’s East Beach.

Besides the high-rise resort hotel, there will be 278 beach cottages. The plan is to build the cottages in four phases, with delivery of the first 100 homes expected next year.

Construction will soon start on a 31,000-square-foot amenity deck, which will be located 20 feet above sea level and include a 400-foot lazy river, an infinity pool, pickleball courts, restaurants, bars, and retail.

The homes, which will be manufactured by Aura Home Remodeling & Construction in a Houston facility, will be transported to the development at 317 East Beach Drive, where they will be assembled. Each unit will come fully furnished. Even a golf cart is included with each unit. The units are expected be rented out by the owners — whether on long- or short-term basis.

At 15 stories, the highrise resort will include 334 rooms.

The entire development is expected to be completed by 2029.
