Work on A’s New Stadium Showing Progress

The owners of the new Las Vegas A’s wasted no time after the famed Tropicana Hotel was demolished. Construction crews began work on Allegiant Stadium in early August and the progress is unmistakable.

Concrete pouring continues, including dozens of columns and the topping of the first buttress. The lower-level concourse is beginning to take shape on the southeast corner of the ballpark site. Following the concrete pour, the next tasks will include the primary steel structure and seating work above the main concourse.

To date, the A’s have filed for building permits valued at over $901.8 million.

Once complete the stadium will seat 33,000 fans. The $1.75 billion cost was offset by a public contribution of $380 million. The roof will have a “spherical armadillo” look to it.
