Work Begins on 40K-SF Cancer Center

Dallas-based Texas Oncology has begun work on one of the largest comprehensive cancer care centers in the market. The $7 million, 40,000-square-foot center is going north at Huebner Road and Research Drive in San Antonio. The new building will replace an older, smaller one.

Once completed in 2017, the center will be able to treat approximately 300 patients a day. The facility will offer seven procedure rooms, eight lab rooms, 52 chemotherapy chairs and more than 30 exam rooms. Also onsite will be a pharmacy and outdoor healing garden.

Texas Oncology merged a year ago with Cancer Care Centers of South Texas.
