Woodworth Apartment Building to Feature Rotating Art Show
Seattle-based SeaLevel Properties, Capitol Hill Arts District (CHAD) and creative company Sensebellum have entered into a partnership to showcase public art on Capitol Hill. Located at the corner of 10th Avenue and E. Union Street at 1225 10th Ave., SeaLevel and CHAD’s new UNION project will feature a rotating 60-foot-tall projected art show on the new Woodworth Apartment Building beginning on July 14 at 9:45 p.m. and continuing every night at dusk year-round.
“The building design included a blank wall that would provide an opportunity for large-scale artwork. From the beginning, we wanted this to be reserved for local artists and community creativity, and partnering with the Capitol Hill Arts District and Sensebellum to make that happen has been incredible,” said Kyle Weeks, director of multifamily development at SeaLevel Properties.
Completed in 2020, the Woodworth Apartments features 60 boutique studios and one-bedroom homes with community amenities including a rooftop deck.
“Capitol Hill has experienced so much change recently. We are excited to partner with SeaLevel Properties to create a large-scale highly visible space for art in this neighborhood,” said Terry Novak, Capitol Hill Arts District chair. “The launch of this project really feels like a grand reopening of the neighborhood and a chance to bring the community together for the first time in a long time. LeLeita’s photographs, which documented Capitol Hill over the last year, are a wonderful visual representation of the resiliency of our neighborhood and perfect for the launch of UNION. We hope this public-private partnership is a model for other neighborhoods to replicate as new construction continues to change our city.”
