Wood Engineering re-ups Houston's 3rd largest office lease

Wood PLC Recommits to 226,000 SF Lease in Houston

Eventhough the company has pared back office space since the Covid pandemic, engineering firm Wood PLC has re-upped its lease at Westgate III, making it one of the largest office deals of the year in West Houston. A majority of its employees now work on a hybrid or remote schedule.

Wood, a Scotland-based engineering with about 2,200 employees in Houston, recently signed a 226,300-square-foot recommitment at 17325 Park Row, where it has been located since 2014. Real estate agents Cushman & Wakefield arranged the lease for the four-story building near the Energy Corridor.

The extension would make the Wood deal the third largest commercial office lease signed this year, behind previous leases signed by EOG Resources and Apache Corp. were signed.

The extension comes after the company abandoned its lease for approximately 145,000 square feet at Ten West Corporate Center II at 17404 Katy Freeway in October. The company occupies space in three additional office buildings in West Houston.
