Women in Real Estate Honoree: Wendy Rowden, 42nd Street Development Corp.

Wendy Rowden is an accomplished real estate professional who has dedicated her career to transforming communities.

As president of 42nd Street Development Corp. (42SDC), she is the the developer and operator of the theaters, restaurants and apartments known as Theatre Row.

Her leadership in Times Square in Manhattan is just one of the reasons we chose Rowden to be one of the 2017 Women in Real Estate Award winners for New York. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of those women who have reached respected positions of leadership, and play key mentorship roles for others in commercial real estate.

Before she joined 42SDC, she led Jonathan Rose Companies’ Investments, where she was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s investment management business. Rose is a leading developer of affordable housing properties like Via Verde in the Bronx that have transformed their neighborhoods. Her work set the standard for how such projects are funded.

Rowden is deeply involved with mentoring young real estate professionals, and has taught real estate courses at Columbia University.
