Women in Real Estate Honoree: Sandra Yavitz, Yavitz Companies
Sandra Yavitz has quietly built a career as one of the leading developers in California.
In 2003, she became the owner of Yavitz Companies, a leading developer of retail and other properties. Before that, she led the leasing of the The Grove in Los Angeles, and The Commons at Calabasas for Caruso Affiliated Holdings.
She also acquired sites for new and relocated stores throughout Southern California for Ralph’s Grocery Company, including a site in Santa Barbara — a town which had not seen a new grocery store built in more than 20 years. In addition, she developed more than one million square feet of neighborhood and community shopping centers in Coachella Valley and Las Vegas for Carver Companies. In her first development job, she acquired sites for 20 restaurants for Carl Karcher Enterprises.
Her long history of success is just one of the reasons we chose Yavitz to be one of the 2017 Women in Real Estate Award winners for California. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of those women who’ve reached respected positions of leadership, and play key mentorship roles for others in commercial real estate.
