Women in Real Estate Honoree: Jan Sternin, Berkadia

Jan Sternin is one of the few leaders in the finance industry who saw the importance of third-party servicing for the commercial mortgage-backed securities industry. She worked on educational and industry initiatives. As a senior vice president and managing director for Berkadia, she continues to look for new areas for industry expansion and business development.

Her foresight and leadership are just a couple of the reasons we chose Sternin to be one of the 2017 Women in Real Estate Award winners for New York. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of those women who have reached respected positions of leadership, and play key mentorship roles for others in commercial real estate.

Sternin makes mentoring and education a key part of her daily routine, according to colleagues. She is a founding member and current chair the Women’s Network at the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council.
