Women in Real Estate Honoree: Lorena Toffer, AECOM

Architects, by nature, are plugged into their communities. But, Lorena Toffer is plugged in to a remarkable degree. In demand as a speaker, Toffer has had engagements at the Marketplace Road Show, AIA National Inaugural Multicultural Summit, the AIA National Convention and at the Inaugural ARQ Fest in Guadalajara, Mexico.

As a senior architectural project manager for AECOM, she currently oversees projects for Nokia and Bank of America. Previous clients include Methodist Health System, Dallas-Fort Worth Airport and Dallas Holocaust Museum-Center for Education and Tolerance.

She’s also one of our 2017 Women in Real Estate Award winners for Texas. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of those women who’ve reached respected positions of leadership, and play key mentorship roles for others in commercial real estate.

“She is a remarkable ambassador for architecture in readiness, leadership, service and professional achievement,” remarked AECOM’s Karen Campbell.

One of among the first architecture students at Monterrey Tech in Mexico City, Toffer received many accolades, including Outstanding Young Architect of the Year by the AIA, and the TEXO Summit Award and Outstanding Construction Award from the Associated General Contractors of America. Her community service includes hands-on work with Latinos in architecture and also at CityLab High School of Dallas. She is also an active member of the Dallas Center for Architecture, as well as the local AIA chapter.

Her writing has been published in AIA Dallas Columns Magazine, AIA National Young Architect Award Book. and Society of Architects Blog.
