Women in Real Estate 2018: Post Brothers’ Rose Pushes Through Roadblocks

From early childhood, Sarina Rose has possessed a genuine love for building things, and this mentality taught her that “the tougher the project, the more rewarding its result.” That mantra has shaped her resolve to push through a sea of roadblocks in the construction industry over the past 23 years, from Philadelphia’s image as an architectural rut, to the challenge of earning and maintaining respect in a field where women comprise less than 10% of the workforce.

That’s just one reason we chose Rose as one of the 2018 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

For the past seven years, Rose has been VP of development with Post Brothers, overseeing planning, contractor negotiations and all aspects of project management across the Philadelphia-based company’s $2-billion residential portfolio.

Under her guidance, for example, Post Brothers’ $250-million redevelopment of the historic Presidential City transformed the dated complex into Philadelphia’s largest luxury residential community.

With Rose at the helm, Presidential City’s campus was ultimately redesigned from a drab semi-suburban apartment complex, into a bustling neighborhood of families, young professionals, retired adults and graduate students, earning her and the project multiple awards. This wasn’t the first time a project overseen by Rose won accolades, and likely won’t be the last.
