Women in Real Estate 2020: JPMorgan Chase’s Therese Rutherford Changes the Industry’s Landscape

Therese Rutherford serves as global head of JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Real Estate Appraisal Group and plays a central role in driving innovation while engaging with her peers within the industry.

Rutherford is multifaceted, spearheading the changes in the industry’s landscape. She focuses on maximizing automation and creating a dynamic structure that ensures efficiency, restructuring commercial real estate’s appraisal landscape and analyzing the benefits and risks that would follow automating the valuation process. Her ability to manage her global team is unparalleled – the team is responsible for the procurement and review of global valuation assignments with a highly diverse portfolio and in addition to her knack for innovation and technology, she excels at management and organization.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Rutherford as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

She is also focused on promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry, sharing the knowledge and experience she has accrued over the years during Penn State Real Estate’s 2020 Virtual Boot Camp for its students. Rutherford is an active member of RMA, Appraisal Institute and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and in early 2020 achieved the designation of RICS Fellow.
