Women in Real Estate 2020: Lee & Associates’ Ra’eesa Motala Leads Through Initiative and Respect

As the only female commercial real estate broker in Lee & Associates’ Minneapolis office until quite recently, and youngest to make VP, Ra’eesa Motala has an uncanny way of taking charge of a situation and leading through initiative and respect. As a broker, she specializes in manufacturing, tech and supply chain—three industries that are not only male-dominated but also require a strong female presence to take charge. At only 30 years old, Motala has learned how to take on this role and also be an advocate for others who are trying to do the same.

These are just a couple of the reasons we chose Ray as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

On top of her professional accomplishments in Commercial Real Estate, Motala is known in our community as one that always gives back. She consistently volunteers with Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics Minnesota, Feed My Starving Children, and Second Harvest Heartland. She also judges the TechnovationMN competition annually.

Recently, Motala hosted a panel for Women in Manufacturing/Business to help young women entering the workforce gain a better understanding of how to excel in their roles, learn from successes of strong women in leadership roles and overcome situations they would otherwise feel uncomfortable in.
