Women in Real Estate 2020: Katerra’s Michelle Schwartz Helps Shape the Arizona Landscape

Michelle Schwartz is a Director with Katerra in Scottsdale. She brings a demonstrated history in the commercial architecture, construction and real estate industry and seeks to improve communities through the assignments the firm handles. She commands a quiet leadership presence and is thoughtful in words and delivery. Most often she’s in listening mode, but when she speaks, it is with a confidence and knowledge that encourages thoughtful dialogue.

In 2018 she was appointed to the Development Review Commission for the City of Tempe. In this role she plays an active part in reviewing and approving many of the projects that now dot the land-locked city’s skyline. In addition to her knowledge, Schwartz is known as a collaborator and connector, and is always striving for achievement.

Schwartz has played critical role in projects that are shaping the Arizona landscape, including Liberty Center at Rio Salado, Tempe; Westin Tempe, Tempe; AC Hotel Biltmore, Phoenix; Sprouts Farmers Market Headquarters, Phoenix; and American Express Desert Ridge Campus, Phoenix.

Schwartz is a member of Arizona Association for Economic Development, having served in varying leadership roles from events chair to advisory board. She is also active in Valley Partnership where she was elected to the Class of 2015-2016 Advocates program, a prestigious group of future industry leaders. She has been awarded as a Top Young Pro in the Southwest from Engineering News Record, and as one of the “Most Influential Women in Commercial Real Estate” by Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazine.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Schwartz as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners in Phoenix. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
