Women in Real Estate 2020: Cushman & Wakefield’s Marilyn Lissner is Pillar of Chicago CRE Community
Marilyn Lissner, Executive Director at Cushman and Wakefield, has been a pillar of the Chicago real estate community for more than 40 years. During that time, she has not only been a successful commercial real estate broker, completing 600-plus transactions valued at $5 billion, but she’s also devoted her career to promoting the professional advancement of women in her industry, blazing a trail for future generations of female leaders who have benefitted from her mentorship.
A graduate of National Louis University in Chicago, Lissner has spent more than three decades at Cushman & Wakefield, advising clients on high-level strategic planning, negotiation and implementation of real estate transactions, as well as corporate advisory and portfolio management solutions. Additionally, she has served as the lead account manager for portfolios in excess of 10 million square feet.
These are just some of the reasons we chose Lissner as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
One of the original founders and president of CREW Chicago, Lissner has broken down more than a few barriers over the years. She’s done this through current and previous involvement in organizations that benefit women and their careers, minorities and children, including The Chicago Network, Chicago Foundation for Women, International Women’s Forum, Chicago United, Girl Scouts Camp CEO Leadership Program and Blessings in a Backpack.
