Women in Real Estate 2020: JLL’s Katie Fernandez-Espinosa Impresses as Creative Retail Advisory Professional

As Vice President of retail advisory at JLL’s Miami office, Katie Fernandez-Espinosa is responsible for business development, agency leasing, and tenant representation throughout South Florida.

Fernandez-Espinosa has been recognized by her peers as an exceptionally creative and smart professional. She has found her professional calling by embracing change and has pivoted from finance to commercial real estate and from property management to office leasing before landing on retail brokerage.

Prior to joining JLL, Katie served as a Vice President at CREC, a boutique, full-service real estate firm, where she worked in both the office and retail leasing departments. She focused on servicing the firm’s marquee and institutional clients, including DWS, Zurich, and Colony. Notable projects included 800 Brickell, The Alhambra, 2121 Ponce, 555 Washington, Greenery Mall, Pinecrest Town Center and Kendall Market Place.

As the mother of four boys ranging in age from 3 to 21 years old, Fernandez-Espinosa leads by example as someone that has both a successful career and a robust family life. She is also a very vocal advocate and mentor to younger women in the commercial real estate industry.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Fernandez-Espinosa as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
