Women in Real Estate 2020: Boston Development Group’s Jodie Zussman Paved Her Own Way

Jodie Zussman serves as President and COO of Boston Development Group, having seamlessly transitioned in a succession plan and earning the respect of her peers and staff. With more than 35 years in real estate, she has maintained a diverse array of skills and experience in multiple sectors of the industry, such as property management, leasing, brokerage, and construction.

Zussman was a tireless worker before becoming involved in the industry, having worked as a management trainee, then a salesperson until her ambitions were realized. She was first an assistant property manager at Franklin Realty Group, utilizing her father’s real estate counsel and expertise to excel and quickly rising through the ranks due to her savvy, adaptability, and forethought. By doing so she worked for prominent developers and Grubb and Ellis and started her own third-party property management company, then took on the role of President and COO of BDG.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Zussman as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

She uses the skillset she obtained and fostered over the years to oversee the entire management, leasing, and construction departments of Boston Development Group’s portfolio. Currently, she is leading a sizeable life science development project in Watertown, MA.
