Women in Real Estate 2020: Bayer Properties’ Jami Wadkins Knows How to Work Hard and Smile
Serving as co-president of Birmingham-based Bayer Properties, Jami Wadkins oversees the company’s 10-million-square-foot portfolio and more than 100 associates. In addition to the duties of co-president, Wadkins occupies the role of Chief Financial Officer, managing financial operations for the company and its financial assets.
During COVID-19 she has developed an efficient and innovative approach toward maintaining property-level improvements, ensuring that the company would thrive despite the economic stress brought on by the economy. Wadkins has determinedly seen that the company foster new business efforts, leasing strategy, development, and construction services. Her tireless efforts have ensured the company has managed to maintain the entirety of its workforce and will additionally launch a servicer program in partnership with Stan Johnson Company.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Wadkins as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. She formed an internal task force to work with Bayer’s tenants so that they might be guided through the federal financial assistance programs and knew how to utilize the resources that are offered to them. Moreover, she that her colleagues know she’s there to support them as well. Wadkins is known to be “Bayer’s hype woman” and even dropped a rap single to inspire everyone to keep pushing forward, have fun, and smile – even during a pandemic.
