Women in Real Estate 2020: Midway’s Anna Deans Knows Development and Architecture
Two years after joining Houston-based Midway as a senior development manager, Anna Deans was recently promoted to VP, investment and development. In this new role, Deans is the single point of contact for clients and partners, managing strategies and opportunities, and providing the fiduciary role between investors and services. Deans is responsible for managing a high-profile investment portfolio of mixed-use properties, including new development and value-add projects. She also provides support on the asset management of acquisitions and future redevelopments.
While managing the design and delivery of new construction projects, her leadership and expertise proved instrumental in further establishing Midway’s burgeoning multifamily platform. With a background in both development and architecture—having worked for both New York City-based Thor Equities as director of development in Houston and Gensler as a technical designer—Deans’ expertise lies within the efficiency of design, functionality, underwriting and project management.
Colleagues say Deans is passionate about collaborating and developing the initial vision for a project while also understanding the implications of cost, constructability, phasing, project restraints and requirements necessary to make a concept reality.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Deans as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
