Women in Real Estate 2020: Pryor Cashman’s Andrea Gendel Negotiates Deals with Impact

Representing both owners and tenants, Pryor Cashman partner Andrea Gendel has significant experience concerning office leasing, including medical facilities; streetscape retail and restaurant deals; retail malls, and lifestyle center transactions for all retail types.

Experience gained from years of working with retailers has enabled Gendel to appreciate the nuances of retail operations. Her understanding of what is most important both to landlords and tenants enhances her ability to focus on negotiations. She moves deals forward in a constructive way by strongly advocating her client’s positions efficiently and cost-effectively.

These are just a couple of the reasons we chose Gendel as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

Several of Andrea’s deals have significantly impacted New York City-area neighborhoods, business districts, and residents. For example, Andrea represented a significant transportation authority on master leases of properties that can turn transit hubs into thriving retail destinations offering shopping and transportation options. She also negotiated a purchase-option lease that consolidated a college’s Manhattan campus and enabled it to continue to operate in Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath.
