Women in Real Estate 2020: Berkadia’s Adrienne Kautzman Creates Solutions for Lenders and Borrowers

Adrienne Kautzman has served as a Director at Berkadia in Scottsdale for four years and has elected to anchor her commercial real estate career on relationships rather than transactions. That approach has served her well this year because Kautzman’s specialty is in the hotel industry, which has been hard-hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She provides financing solutions to commercial real estate developers and owners throughout the United States. During her time at Berkadia, she has closed more than $600 million in transactions for more than 40 hotel properties and has reviewed or underwritten more than $2 billion.

Over the past year, Kautzman’s greatest accomplishment was securing the financing for a $140-million ground-up construction loan on four hotels. The complicated deal required patience and determination to ensure the lender was comfortable and committed to the deal.

Given the current environment and volatility in the hospitality segment of the lending market, Kautzman’s previous credit and origination experience at a balance sheet lender has proven invaluable towards the creation of solutions that serve the needs of both the lender and borrower.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Kautzman as one of the 2020 Women in Real Estate Award winners in Phoenix. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

On the giving back to the community front, Kautzman is involved in New Pathways for Youth, an organization to help youth that are living in extreme adversity break the cycle of generational poverty across relationships, education and employment through one-on-one mentoring.
