Women in Real Estate: CushWake’s Wendy Katz Takes a Team-Based Approach to Clients

At 500 West Madison, Katz represented property owner KBS in one of Chicago’s highest profile deals year-to-date. Accenture PLC consolidated its U.S. headquarters into 500 West Madison, turning its 74,000-square-foot tenancy into 263,000 square feet, making Accenture the building’s anchor tenant. She worked with KBS to relocate several existing tenants within the building to provide all of the contiguous space required simultaneously. In addition, Katz was able to assure Accenture of the ability to obtain naming rights, while following necessary steps to receive building-top signage from city government.
These are just some of the reasons we chose Katz as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
From the beginning of her career, Katz has followed a team-centered approach to help clients develop unique ways to differentiate themselves from competitors, such as fresh marketing tactics and capital improvement recommendations. By building a mutual give-and-take relationship with her client, she not only relies on her own market research, but also ensures that her overall approach aligns simultaneously with the owners’ short-term and long-term investment goals.
