Women in Real Estate 2019: Vulcan’s Ada Healey Pushes Innovation, Integration Across Pacific Northwest

When Healey joined Vulcan in 2001, she was just one of three in the real estate group and was tasked with developing the South Lake Union neighborhood. She has led Vulcan’s redevelopment of 60 acres in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood and oversees the company’s additional real estate investment activities throughout the Pacific Northwest.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Healey as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
Healey was inducted into NAIOP Washington State’s Hall of Fame 2018, which recognizes the people who laid the groundwork for the CRE industry today, and have helped shape the character of the region and cities in Washington. Included among her favorite projects are Amazon Phase VI in South Lake Union; Batik, an apartment building in Yesler; and Stack House, a residential development that encompassed the adaptive reuse of the historic Supply Laundry Building in South Lake Union.
Prior to joining Vulcan, Healey worked for nearly 10 years at ING Clarion in asset management, acquisitions and portfolio management. She’s also worked at NYNEX Properties (now Verizon Communications), Sedgwick Group and London and Metropolitan Reinsurance Company.
