Women in Real Estate 2019: CBRE’s Jenny Haeg Reps Top Bay Area Tech Startups

Jenny Haeg is a Vice Chairman at CBRE, specializing in the representation of high-growth startups and technology companies in the Bay Area and across the nation.

After starting her commercial real estate career in San Francisco, Haeg realized the demand for a real estate services firm that focused exclusively on the needs of the Bay Area’s growing technology companies and startups. In 2011, she founded Custom Spaces, which focused on the unique requirements of the tech sector and helped these companies scale their businesses and achieve their real estate goals in a way that was consistent with their culture and identity.

Custom Spaces’ clients included Airbnb, Square, Medium, Instacart and Spotify. In addition to its Bay Area clientele, the team soon expanded to provide real estate solutions for tech companies in markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and London. CBRE acquired Custom Spaces in 2017, and Haeg now serves as Vice Chairman at CBRE and has a leadership role in its global technology practice.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Haeg as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

When Haeg isn’t busy working with the top tech companies in the Bay Area, she spends her time giving back to the community. When DonorsChoose—an online charity that helps students in need—was looking to open a San Francisco office, they reached out to her for assistance. After learning about their mission, she offered to contribute her entire commission back to the cause, and has since joined its board as a National Advisory Council member.
