Women in Real Estate 2019: Holly Duran’s a Low-Profile Powerhouse in Tenant Representation

While maintaining a low profile, Holly Duran has become one of the country’s most influential women in tenant representation. She has spearheaded office and data center lease negotiations for more than 21 million square feet of space across the globe.

Duran’s eponymous firm, Holly Duran Real Estate Partners (HDREP), focuses on the futures, options and derivatives industry, arranging sales and leasing transactions in Chicago and elsewhere. Clients include Cboe Global Markets; CME Group, which the firm has represented for more than three decades; OCC, the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization; BOX Options Market LLC and other exchanges, along with brokerage and trading firms and others in the industry.

Since arranging CME Group’s sale of its 1.3-million-square-foot historic CBOT Building in 2012 for $151 million, HDREP has completed $1.75 billion in transactions, with more than 60% attributable to the office and data center needs of financial services clients.

These are just some of the reasons we chose Duran as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

Equally as longstanding as of some of her client relationships is Duran’s support of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (previously Children’s Memorial Hospital). A supporter of the hospital since 1984, she currently serves as a member of several boards and committees.
