Women in Real Estate 2019: Broadstone’s Kate Davis Reaches an Overlooked Investor Base

Kate Davis has more than 15 years’ experience in commercial real estate investing, finance and portfolio management. Based in Naperville, IL, currently she’s president and portfolio manager at Broadstone Real Estate, responsible for the launch and management of the firm’s interval fund (Broadstone Real Estate Access Fund, or BDREX).

At the forefront of the development of interval funds, Davis has been able to build a business around an investor base that was previously ignored—retail as opposed to institutional investors. She has made significant contributions to educating the industry on what interval funds are and why they matter, and why there should be a way for institutional capital and retail capital to meet and work together.

These are just some of the reasons we chose Davis as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Davis also serves as a member of Broadstone’s six-person executive team. Along with managing BDREX, Davis contributes significantly to running the overall organization by weighing in on important strategic and growth decisions.

Her ability to connect with people is evinced by the significant impact she has had on Broadstone’s leadership team and the company, despite joining the organization just two years ago. Colleagues say she has also brought a wealth of connections to Broadstone that have meaningfully driven new business opportunities.
