Women in Real Estate 2019: JPMorgan Chase’s Cecile Chalifour Works to Create Communities

JPMorgan Chase’s Cecile Chalifour is a real estate finance and community development professional based in Los Angeles, who manages the production of affordable housing finance. As the West Division Manager for Chase’s Community Development Banking group, she leads a team dedicated to supporting the creation and rehabilitation of affordable housing. Under her leadership, the team has contributed to the development and revitalization of more than 5,000 affordable housing units in the Western region over the past two years.

Chalifour was instrumental in spearheading the creation of two innovative funds in California, and restructured a couple of other funds while she was working at the Low Income Investment Fund. Chalifour serves as a strong leader closely collaborating with foundations and public agencies, as well as developers. She continues to provide expertise on tools for financing affordable housing. She is known amongst her peers for bringing innovative ideas to the table and collaborating to identify new opportunities for creating and preserving affordable housing.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Chalifour as one of the 2019 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.

Chalifour’s deep interest in community development has grown since she immigrated from France 20 years ago. She quickly learned English, and developed a passion for supporting her new local community. In addition to regularly supporting community development, working closely with local real estate developers and investors, she is dedicated to thinking about new financial tools and solutions that can support affordable housing production. She’s a strong catalyst for helping connect on important issues, gather resources and elevate opportunities to the right industry players.
