Wisconsin Industrial Set for Self-Storage Conversion
An affiliate of Milwaukee-based Phoenix Investors plans to convert an industrial facility located at 7505 Durand Ave. in Mount Pleasant, WI into one of the largest self-storage facilities in the market. Consisting of roughly 200,000 square-feet, Phoenix intends on adding up to 2,000 self-storage units to the property.
The facility, which is roughly 30 miles from Milwaukee and 70 miles from Chicago in the growing I-94 Corridor, will be branded and operated by Store Here Self Storage. Located in a mixed-use area with a host of retail and industrial uses, the site includes frontage on both Durand Avenue and Oakes Road.
Phoenix sees demand for climate-controlled space as a result of the area’s growing population, as well as from a number of nearby national and international companies, including Foxconn’s planned development.
Phoenix’s Anthony Crivello says, “There is significant pent-up demand for institutional quality self-storage in the market. Units are expected to be available within the next couple months.”
