WinCo Foods Entering San Diego County
The grocery battle is heating up even more in San Diego County.
Discount grocery WinCo Foods will open its first local store next month in San Marcos Creekside Marketplace. The move comes as German-owned discounter Aldi plans to make a major Southern California push, and newcomer Haggen had to recently close several stores and file for bankruptcy due to intense competition in the area.
WinCo Foods operates 102 stores in eight western states. The nearest one to San Diego is in Temecula.
