Willis Tower Earns WiredScore Plaudits for Connectivity

Equity Office’s Willis Tower has earned a Platinum-level Wired Certification from WiredScore for being one of the nation’s “most cutting-edge connected buildings.” WiredScore’s latest report gave the Downtown Chicago landmark high marks for providing its tenants with access to nine internet service providers.

WiredScore also recognized the tower’s cellphone technology. The building is equipped with a distributed antenna system aimed at providing workers and visitors with better cellphone service throughout the building.

The WiredScore designation occurs amid Equity Office’s $500-million renovation that will include 300,000 square feet of new retail space at Willis Tower. “With the Willis Tower reimagination, we’re providing tenants and employees with engaging communal areas, and the WiredScore designation demonstrates our commitment to also provide the critical infrastructure that can often go unnoticed,” said Equity Office SVP David Moore.
