Will Amazon Beat Apple to Centre 425?
A rumor war erupted in Seattle over a massive leasing requirement involving Apple and Amazon. Now, Amazon is reportedly the front runner to take space at Centre 425, a 16-story 362,988-square-foot office building under construction in Bellevue, WA.
CRE industry sources confirmed the speculation, though neither company representatives nor the Seattle-based developer, Schnitzer West, are speaking publicly. Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly planning a one-million-square-foot expansion in the region.
Centre 425 features “The Exchange,” a communal collaborative workspace with meeting rooms, as well as “third-workplace” spaces. “The Vue” is a rooftop amenity offering a flexible indoor and outdoor conference center, two landscaped terraces and panoramic views of Lake Washington, downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier.
CBRE’s Dwight Newell and JLL’s Mark Flippo and Daniel Seger handle leasing at the tower that’s scheduled for completion Q4 2016.
