Wight & Co. Elevates Shawn Benson to Director

Wight & Company promoted Shawn Benson to director of land development. In his new role with the Chicago-based design and delivery firm, Benson (pictured) will lead teams of civil engineers and landscape architects in managing and designing various private and public development projects, from feasibility through final design, permitting and construction.

“In his seven years at Wight & Company, Shawn has provided resilient and sustainable designs for some of our most high-profile projects,” said CEO Mark Wight. “His talent with integrating site and building designs with landscape amenities to enhance neighborhoods, campuses and communities makes him ideal for this role and an asset to our leadership team.”

At Wight & Company, Benson has overseen projects for recreation/sports, education, commercial retail and municipal sector clients. Before joining the company, he was a project manager at CaliChi Design Group in Chicago, and a project engineer at Woolpert in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
