Whole Foods Market to Launch New Store Concept

Whole Foods Market Inc. is launching a new store concept, Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, designed for urban neighborhoods, starting with Manhattan’s Upper East Side, New York Business Journal reported.

These smaller-format stores, ranging from 7,000 to 14,000 square feet, will cater to fast-paced urban lifestyles with grab-and-go meals, fresh produce, meat, seafood, prepared foods, breads, alcohol, and supplements. The company plans to expand this concept to other cities nationwide.

Although smaller than its traditional stores, which average around 40,000 square feet, the Daily Shop concept won’t replace them. Christina Minardi, EVP for growth and development, emphasized the aim to tailor every aspect to urban needs while fostering customer connections and advancing sustainability goals. Whole Foods Market operates over 530 stores across the US, UK, and Canada, with 75 more in development.
