Whole Foods-Anchored $100M Tempe MXU Breaks Ground

Colorado-based Forum Real Estate Group broke ground on The Local, a $100-million mixed-use development in Tempe, AZ. The nine-story, Whole Foods Market 365-anchored project also includes 286 residential apartments. It is the first Whole Foods Market 365 in Arizona.

The 1.9-acre site at University Drive and Ash Avenue, near downtown’s Mill Avenue, will include a 41,000-square-foot grocery store on the ground floor with three levels of parking above. Amenities include resort-style, variable depth pools, a sound-proof karaoke/music/entertainment lounge, separate yoga/barre/Zen studios, a game and clubroom, and a rooftop sky lounge.

Floorplan configurations include studio, one, two and three-bedrooms, with high-end finishes and sophisticated accents that blend vintage inspiration with modern design. That includes exposed concrete and brick, distressed and rich wood tones, and living plant and art details.

The Local is scheduled occupancy in Q1 2019.
